What's included?

This 13+ page report displays useful aggregated data about how well or poorly specific shelter service providers and users are performing at collecting prior housing history data when clients present for shelter. The report prompts for a date range and service providers, and calculates how much is known about the client's residential situation since their last shelter stay.

The following breakdowns are included in this report:

  • Number of days known since last shelter exit (or in the last year)
  • Percent of days known since last shelter exit (or in the last year)
  • Breakdown by 1st, 2nd, and 3rd+ intakes
  • Breakdown by service provider
  • Breakdown by user
  • List of top 30 clients with the most housing data
  • List of the top 30 clients with the least housing data

What is completeness?

Data completeness is defined as "the proportion of stored data against the potential of 100% complete." It looks at how much of the data fields for any given client, program, service provider, partner agency, or system are filled in or answered. Data completeness looks at missing or null values, and “unknown” values.

Completeness is usually one of the first dimensions of data quality that communities are concerned about improving. After all, without any data at all, it's hard to look at other measures like timeliness or accuracy. It’s also very easy to measure and report on.

Note that in order to have a high level of completeness, there simply needs to be values in the required fields. Data completeness is not concerned with whether or not the data is true.
