Travel Policy

Site Visit Rate

  1. ACRE Consulting bills for site visits at a rate of $1500/day on weekdays and $2000/day on weekends.

  2. Our minimum site visit rate is $2000. This may be waived by ACRE Consulting if travel requirements are minimal.

  3. Our daily rate covers working a normal business day of 8:30am-4:30pm or equivalent, with a 1-hour break for lunch.

  4. If delivering training, our daily rate includes up to 6 hours of active training delivery; the remaining time is spent in preparation, clean-up, or other administrative tasks related to the training.

  5. Work conducted outside of normal working hours is billed at an overtime rate of $200/hour.

Travel Expenses

  1. All travel-related expenses will be paid for or be reimbursed by the client.

  2. We will book the cheapest available room at a 3-star hotel (e.g. Holiday Inn) or equivalent if reasonable for us to do so. We give priority to convenience of location; if there is a hotel next door to the site visit location, we will book that hotel.

  3. Any flights booked will be economy class.

    • Note that we fly out of Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal. Our office is located in Kingston but there are currently no flights in or out of Kingston airport.

  4. Any trains booked will be economy class.

    • Note that as there are no flights out of Kingston, we often take the train.

  5. Any rental cars booked will be the cheapest available rate.

    • Note that we prefer to make arrangements such that rental cars are not necessary (i.e. taking the train; booking a hotel next to the site visit; etc.), however, this is not always possible.

  6. Meals will be accounted for at the client’s instructions. For example, if the client prefers that we supply receipts and pass on the direct costs, we will; if the client prefers a per diem rate, we will bill the per diem rate as agreed upon between ACRE Consulting and the client.
